3D Renderings Only using the textures on this site

These photorealistic renderings are created using only the textures freely available on this site.

Good photographic texture maps are necessary to create stunning scenes; the scenes I have created here are relatively simple but illustrate the importance of having good textures.

Futuristic air/space craft

downedbird1.jpg    planecorner.jpg

This futuristic fantasy scene uses three textures from the stone and rock page one from the industrial page and one from the cloud and sky page, I have made the burnt out aircraft texture tillable by offsetting the image. The scene was created using a plane object modified with a height map and then importing a model from a previous project, which was created using wings 3D on Linux a nice subdivision modeling program.

Ruined hut (architectural)

hut2withgrass.jpg    cornerhutplain.jpg

This old ruined hut is actually a very simple scene consisting of basic primitives and a few modified spheres; the outcome is quite realistic due to the quality of the textures and ray traced lighting. The scene was created in a short time and isn’t perfect but the most time consuming process was randomly deforming the spheres to create stones, if you look closely you can see that the stones are repeated in areas (copy and paste) alternatively I could have simply mapped a box with a wall texture and bump map to create a similar but less dramatic effect, but wares the fun in that. The inspiration for this image was the back of beyond theme.

We have some LIVE 3D models on-line HERE you will need Java installed to view them LINK-- JAVA ALL - WINDOWS - MACLINUX.
